Interview of our student, Asiya Yelemessova, from ŠKODA AUTO University
Asiya comes from Kazakhstan. She is studying for her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Sales. My name is Asiya Yelemessova and I come from the heart of Asia, Kazakhstan. It is my fourth year at ŠKODA AUTO University.
Before my Bachelor studies, I also attended the one-year course of Czech language and culture for foreigners. It became clear to me during the course that ŠKODA AUTO University is one of the best and most prestigious private universities, not only in the Czech Republic. This was the reason why I decided to continue studying here after the course and start my Bachelor studies, because I believe that it is very important to obtain quality knowledge and good experience that will guide me forward in the future.
Our university offers a number of study visits and work placements abroad, which is a great opportunity to improve not only your language skills.
I have studied Spanish since my first year here and I feel like Spain is very close to me. I was therefore very happy when ŠKODA AUTO University offered me the opportunity to travel to a small, but lovely Spanish town called Tossa de Mar, where I spent three months as a receptionist in a hotel chain “Hotels Holiday Park”. My job was taking care of registration and accommodation of guests, or- ganisation and preparation of guest data administration, organisation of their arrivals and departures, phone, e-mail and fax reservations and translation of different documents from Spanish into Russian, Czech and English. I spent a lot of time working with Microsoft Office and I also learned how to deal with complicated situations that came up regularly during my work there.
This experience has changed me and helped me to make clear what is important, what I want and what goals I will pursue. I would like to keep studying and working, learning new languages and travelling.
This is a message to all students who read this: Now we are students and time passes quickly. Accept as many challenges as you can and enjoy the student life to the fullest. You will appreciate in the future. Do not be afraid of Erasmus, for it was the best experience life has given me so far.
